The core focus of my work is understanding how aquatic environmental changes influence
phenotypic and molecular variation across biological scales (e.g., individuals to entire
communities). I use experimental and comparative inferences from tools like CT-scanning, next-
generation sequencing (RADseq, RNAseq), GIS, field and flume experiments, and phylogenetic
comparative methods. This work generally uses freshwater mollusks as a study system,
a group that is critically imperiled across the planet.
Beyond my research, I am very interested in increasing participation of all people in science.
